  • Can I wear a Hijab?
Yes of course you can. You just need to make sure it is securely pinned and/or tucked into your clothing to make sure it doesn't get caught in the moving parts of our Pilates equipment. The same applies to clients with long hair. Putting long hair into a high bun or plaits minimises the risk of getting it tangled (ouch).
  • What do I need to wear?
You don't need to wear designer active wear to take a class at Prominence Pilates Studios. A T shirt and leggings is absolutely fine. It's important that your clothing lets you move freely but shouldn't be too loose as it may get caught in the equipment. For every class, you need to wear Pilates grip socks.
  • Am I too old to start Pilates?
It's never too late to start Pilates! As long as you are physically fit and can climb the stairs to the studio you can book onto any mixed ability class. If you have any underlying health conditions or you're worried about joining a class, a 1 to 1 might be more suitable. Classes and 1 to 1's can be booked online and you simply book and turn up.
  • What's the easiest way to book a class?
Download the Prominence Pilates App from either the Google or Apple App Store. You should recognise our logo when you find it. If you've booked and paid for a class with us before, you'll use your existing Prominence username and password to log on and set up the App. If you haven't been to Prominence Pilates before, we recommend you set up your username and password via our website and then download the App. Use these links to download the App Apple Google
  • Is Pilates suitable for men?
Pilates is a great form of exercise for anyone to take up and the benefits are the same for men and women, e.g. improved strength, mobility, flexibility. Unless indicated on the timetable, men and women can participate in any mixed-ability class or private 1 to 1.
  • How do I cancel or reschedule a booking?
If your class is more than 48 hours in the future, our booking system can be used to cancel or change a booking. Please note, however, that our 48-hour cancellation policy means that you will forfeit your class credit if you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours to your class.
  • Are there any classes just for women?
Yes, we currently run a women-only Reformer class on Thursday afternoon at 1:40pm.
  • How do I book a private lesson?
We offer private lessons for 1, 2 and 3 people. To book, simply head to our timetable and: Find a private 1 to 1 studio equipment that matches your availability. Buy an appropriate class credit and book the session. If the session is for 2 or 3 people, get in touch and let us know who'll be attending. Everyone will need to register on our booking system prior to the session.
