If your class is more than 48 hours in the future, our booking system can be used to cancel or change a booking.
Please note, however, that our 48-hour cancellation policy means that you will forfeit your class credit if you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours to your class.
We offer private lessons for 1,2,3 or 4 people. To book, simply head to our timetable, find a private session that suits your availability and choose and purchase the appropriate class credits. You can buy individual, 5 or 10 session credits.
Once you've purchased your credits, book the private session you want and come along to the studio. We'll send you an email with our door code and other information prior to your session.
If you are booking a private session for more than one person, please ensure everyone has registered on our booking system, provided their contact details and completed the health questionnaire.
Yes, we offer women-only classes.
Please look for Women Only Reformer and Women Only Circuit on the timetable.
You don't need to wear designer active wear to take a class at Prominence Pilates Studios. A T shirt and leggings is absolutely fine. It's important that your clothing lets you move freely but shouldn't be too loose as it may get caught in the equipment. For every class, you need to wear Pilates grip socks.
Yes of course you can. You need to make sure it is securely pinned and/or tucked into your clothing so it doesn't get caught in the moving parts of our Pilates equipment. The same applies to clients with long hair. Putting long hair into a high bun or plaits minimises the risk of getting it tangled (ouch).
It's never too late to start Pilates! As long as you are physically fit and can climb the stairs to the studio you can book onto any mixed ability class. If you have any underlying health conditions or you're worried about joining a class, a private 1 to 1 might be more suitable.
Classes and private 1 to 1s can be booked online and you simply book and turn up.
Pilates is a great form of exercise for anyone to take up and the benefits are the same for men and women, e.g. improved strength, mobility, flexibility. Unless indicated on the timetable, men and women can participate in any mixed-ability class or private 1 to 1.
The only way to contact the studio is by sending an email to Kate@prominencepilates.com.(Kate@prominencepilates.com.)
We try to answer any questions as soon as possible but you'll have to bear with us if you email outside our opening hours.
For the comfort and convenience of everyone coming to Prominence Pilates Studios, we have 3 rules that everyone needs to stick to. These are:
1. Wear grip socks - you can buy a pair if you forget them
2. Phones on silent and in a locker, not in the studios
3. Turn up on time - your Instructor might not let you in if you're over 5 minutes late
If you are booked onto a Mat, Springboard or Aerial Class, you'll need to bring your own mat.
All our classes are suitable for beginners so it's personal preference as to where you start. A lot of our new clients start with Reformer because it's popular at the moment but we encourage everyone to mix up their classes and instructors. Each form of Pilates at Prominence challenges your body in different ways.
If you consider yourself to be reasonably healthy, just book a class. Our booking system will notify your instructor that it's your first time so they'll have a quick chat with you before class to find out how you're feeling and what you want from the class. Once you're in the class, they'll keep checking you're ok and will show you how to do the exercises. Don't worry if it's a bit confusing. It can be at first but you'll soon get to grips with it.
