Pilates Mat

A great introduction to the Pilates repertoire! This session will enhance your flexibility, strength, mobility, posture and powerhouse (core). Pilates Mat is suitable for all abilities and will explore all the Pilates principles which are centring, breathing, control, precision, flow, alignment and integration. Once all these principles are in place the body can move freely and functionally. 

Pilates Gentle Mat. This is an easy introduction to the Pilates repertoire.

Progressive Mat.  A more challenging session for those who are seeking an energetic work out.

Small Apparatus Mat

Using small Pilates equipment like the step barrel, oov, orbit, magic circle, weighted balls, spiky balls, resistance bands and foam roller, Small Apparatus Mat brings a new and fun dynamic to your Pilates Mat experience.  

 

This is a mixed-ability class suitable for everyone and is grounded in the Pilates principles of centring, breathing, control, precision, flow, alignment and integration.  If you take this class regularly, you’ll notice improvements in your strength, mobility, flexibility and posture.

Pilates Barre

Pilates Barre is a standing class that combines Pilates and Ballet. It is an energetic and elegant session that provides a full body work out. It does not require any prior dance experience. Over time you will develop correct positioning and alignment.

Through Pilates Barre classes you will also improve balance, coordination and proprioception (Mind to muscle connection).  The skills and strength developed through these fun group sessions are designed to enable strong, lean, healthy bodies at every age, for life.

Pilates Reformer, Springboard & Aerial

Pilates Reformer

 The Pilates Reformer, created by Joseph Pilates is a bed like frame with a flat carriage that uses a weighted spring system to add resistance and assistance to the Pilates moves. The Reformer exercises can be performed seated, laying down (prone and supine), kneeling, side-lying and standing. The Pilates Reformer can add an extra challenge to the Mat syllabus or it can assist to help clients reach their full potential that they would not be able to achieve in a Mat class. This session will give a total body workout that is low impact; it is ideal for toning and strengthening all areas of the body.

Gentle Reformer. A gentle/restorative introduction.

Progressive Reformer:  For clients who have Reformer experience and want to push themselves further.

Jump Board Reformer: uses the Jump Board to deliver a full body aerobic workout yet remains low impact so is kind to your joints.

Pilates Springboard

Our springboard sessions are tailored to suit your individual needs and objectives, allowing for greater progression and development.

Springboard is a unique wall-mounted workstation that facilitates an invigorating full-body mixed ability workout. Designed by master Pilates teacher, Ellie Herman, Springboard follows all the same Pilates Principles you are familiar with, but introduces a weighted spring system that allows users to increase resistance for maximum benefit and results.  

Pilates Springboard is a great way to take your Mat Pilates practice to the next level. It is also ideal for targeting weaker muscle groups, for example underarms or obliques that may require a little special attention. 
These classes will accommodate a maximum of 5 adults allowing the instructor to provide supervised coaching throughout the session.

Pilates Aerial

Aerial Pilates is a unique discipline that involves practicing Pilates exercises in the air by suspending the body or parts of the body in an aerial hammock. The hammock is suspended close to the ground at the height of the hips to the knees. Beginners practicing Aerial Pilates may start on the floor with the assistance of the hammock, then gradually advance to exercises that require full-body suspension and inversions. 

This discipline embraces the fundamentals of Pilates, including optimum posture, improved alignment, stability and strengthened powerhouse (core) but also challenges proprioception, focus and balance, making this practice as much about general wellbeing as it is about optimum fitness.

Our goal will be to stretch further, for longer with less strain on the body. All abilities are welcome for a class filled with fun and dedicated to manifesting a positive mental attitude through Pilates.

Studio Equipment

The Studio Equipment gym session provides access to a variety of professional Pilates workstations, each offering unique, targeted workout opportunities.

This session will run as a circuit of no more than 4 adults. You will get to experience the rocking Reformer, Ladder Barrel, Cadillac, Wunda chair and more!

This is a chance to train like a professional, using equipment that is not widely available, yet has proven results in improving strength, mobility, stability nd powerhouse (core). Our nurturing environment provides an opportunity to learn new ways to address movement or flexibility issues, with an experienced instructor on hand to help you get the most from your workout. 

The circuit training format will give everyone a chance to experience each piece of equipment and sessions will be designed to include both an upper and lower body workout that will leave you energised and invigorated.
