Meet Kate

Kate began her career as a dancer, moving to London in 1999 to train and perform. It was here that she discovered Pilates, drawn to its precision, discipline and the lasting impact it had on both her body and overall wellbeing.
She trained with the Pilates Institute London and went on to teach across the South of England before returning to West Yorkshire in 2005. Over the years, she has built a wealth of experience across schools, studios and community settings.
With a clear and considered vision, Kate set out to create a boutique studio centred around the original Pilates apparatus she trained on, including the Reformer, Ladder Barrel and Chair. She opened her first studio in 2018, later relocating to the beautifully designed Albion Street space in 2021.
Committed to excellence, Kate continues to refine her practice through ongoing training, most recently with JPilates in London, alongside the wider Prominence teaching team.
Having undergone four surgeries herself, Kate brings a thoughtful and deeply inclusive approach to her teaching. Her philosophy, #progressionnotperfection, is woven through every session, supporting clients to move with confidence and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
Beyond teaching, Kate is often found quietly shaping the studio environment, ensuring every detail contributes to the calm, considered experience Prominence is known for. Outside the studio, she enjoys time with her family, long walks with her dogs and the occasional gin and lemonade.
